The coolest thing that happened this past week...
That no one was talking about... And for the life of me, I can't figure out why politics and divisive crap is more interesting than...
š¤ A Record Was Broken
Lululemon hosted an event called LululemonFurther. And before you delete this email because of the reputation with activewear where the wearers wear it but aren't active, let me explain.
Picture a level, 2.5-mile dirt track where runners run for SIX DAYS STRAIGHT.
Camille Herron, a runner for Lululemon, whose Twitter bio reads "Ultrarunner propelled by tacos and joy" broke 12 records. Ready?
Yeah, that's a long list. She ran 560 miles in 6 days.
I don't think you caught that. She ran: 560 miles. In 6 days.
I don't know what the lesson is. I don't know how to even articulate how incredible this is. All I know is that the human spirit is one incredible thing, even if just represented by this one runner during this one six-day period.
Tacos probably had something to do with it.
šš»āāļø A Lesson In Science
As the weather heats up... or at least... I hope it's gonna heat up soon... here's a quick thought for those of us who are exercising outside.
When exercising, your blood has to go to three places:
- Your Muscles - To keep going
- Your Skin - To keep you cool
- Your Stomach - To digest your food
The hotter it gets, the more you have to slow your pace because you need blood to keep you cool.
Especially if you're eating and running, you really have to slow down. Some of the best ultra runners on the planet have huge stomach issues as soon as the weather heats up.
So friends, cool your pace. It'll keep you cool in this upcoming hot weather.
Book Update - Graphic mock-ups should be coming this week. Boy oh boy am I excited to finish up this book project! (Because I have literally five next book projects in my head.)
Running Update - I'm on vacation this week without kids... which means I'll be running guilt-free at my leisure! Should be a good week.

Just run one mile... because one mile inevitably turns to two... Then, to three... And before you know it, you're running further than you ever dreamed. See you on the trails! š¤š»
